Michel Stanciu, director of Delphi Diesel Manufacturing Engineering & Planning, is a native Romanian. He organized the project team that evaluated site options, ultimately recommending lasi as the best place for placing the investment in a new diesel plant. lasi, a growing software market and an upcoming Eastern European market hotspot, met Delphi’s requirements. Stanciu said he is pleased with the investment Delphi intends to make in his native country and he appreciates the cooperation of the Romanian authorities. “With Delphi engineers working as mentors in the lasi universities, I think we are set up for a long, successful relationship here,” Stanciu said. “We’ll have a team-based workforce that is empowered and accountable.
